Advance registration for any of the classes/programs is required and can be handled at the Recreation Center during business hours or you may mail in your check Please include your name, address, & phone number. The Center Line Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient registration or conditions beyond its control. Anyone under the age of 18 must be registered by a parent or legal guardian. Program fees must be paid at time of registration. REGISTRATIONS WILL BE TAKEN UNTIL CLASS/PROGRAM FILLS.
REFUNDS
Refunds for programs must be requested and be approved by the Recreation Department during the first week of the program or one week prior to a special event. No refunds will be given after the first week of the program.

GARDEN CLUB
An educational and informal way to learn all about the art of gardening. Meets the first Wednesday of every month. Club meetings are held at the Center Line Parks & Rec. Center at 10 am. Try it out! No Fee.
QUILTERS ANONYMOUS
Adults and kids over 10 years old are welcome to join our quilting club. We meet at the Recreation Center on Thursday’s, once a month, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

BASIC JEWELRY MAKING
Tuesdays, June 17 & 24 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Cost $20.
This class is for those who know a little about bead stringing but maybe not enough to make that special project and need a little help. You will have two evenings to ask the instructor questions and get personal help with your project. Bring your own project, supplies and tools.
HUNTER SAFETY COURSE
This class is necessary for anyone who has never had a hunting license and was born after January 1, 1960. Attendance is mandatory both days. Range time is scheduled for Sunday afternoon. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Bring a lunch and beverage both days (pop machine available on site). Class is limited to 25 Parent must register anyone under 18 years of age. Meets at the Center Line Parks & Recreation Center, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fee is $10. Registration will begin August 1st.

WALKING CLUB
Join your friends and neighbors! If you like to walk but walking outside in the cold or dark doesn’t appeal to you, join our walking club as we walk indoors at Center Line High School on Mondays through Thursdays from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Meet in Room A-102. If school is closed there will be no walking. NO FEE FOR THIS PROGRAM! (enter at rear of school). Program runs thru April 2008.

Summer Meals For Kids!
This year, when school lets out, the Summer Food Service Program will offer free nutritious meals to all neighborhood children ages 18 years and younger on Monday thru Friday, any time between 11am and 1pm. Lunches will be available at St. Clement School from June 17 – Aug. 1 and from Aug. 4 -15 at the Center Line Parks & Rec. Center. All meals will meet the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, so you know your child will be eating a healthy meal.
The SFSP is operated and sponsored in Center Line by Center Line Public Schools, in conjunction with the Center Line Parks & Rec. Dept. The program is administered by the Michigan Department of Education.

GAME ROOM
Seniors are welcome anytime during business hours for pool playing at the Recreation Center. The regulars are looking for new faces to join them. They usually arrive at approximately 1 p.m. NO FEE!
SENIOR TRANSPORTATION
Center Line Parks & Recreation, in cooperation with Warren Parks and Recreation, offers a curb-to-curb senior transportation service. This service helps seniors and handicapped persons remain independent for life. PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT DRIVERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE TO ASSIST PASSENGERS IN ANY WAY.

Medical appointments must be scheduled no earlier than two weeks in advance.
There is a maximum of two (2) individual appointments per week.
All appointments need to be concluded by 2 p.m. OTHERWISE YOU MUST MAKE YOUR OWN ARRANGEMENTS FOR TRANSPORTATION HOME.
Center Line residents pay a $4.00 round trip fee.
SENIOR CITIZEN CHORE SERVICE
The Senior Citizen Chore Service program is for persons age 60 and older who are residents of targeted areas in southern Macomb County and who are eligible. Center Line Residents call 586-469-6317

SEASONAL SERVICES
Seasonal services are currently available in Center Line, Roseville, St. Clair Shores, Eastpointe, Warren and Clinton Twp. Service is limited and may be granted on a priority basis for those determined to be in the “greatest economic or social need.”
SNOW REMOVAL To be put on our Snow Removal List you MUST call between August 15th and October 15th. You will receive a letter of confirmation near the beginning of December. Once you receive the letter it is NOT necessary to call when it snows. Snow removal is usually performed after a snowfall of THREE (3) or more inches. Under normal conditions, snow is cleared within one to 5 days of snowfall.
GRASS CUTTING To be put on our Grass Cutting List you MUST call between February 1st and March 15th. If your name is placed on the Grass List you will receive a letter of confirmation before grass cutting season begins. It is NOT necessary to call again for grass cutting. It will be cut approximately once every two (2) weeks, weather permitting. Grass cutting generally begins the first of May and continues through September. Please remember we are NOT a landscaping service. For other jobs such as trimming bushes, you must call so a job request can be taken and scheduled.
SENIOR BINGO
Small prizes and lots of fun at our Bingo for Seniors. Games begin at the Recreation Center at 10 a.m., and ends between 11:30 a.m. and 12 noon. $1.00 to play, $.25 per card, maximum of three cards. Every month is birthday month, let us know that it’s your birthday (proof required) and you don’t have to pay the $1 to play!

INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE
AARP provides income tax assistance to senior citizens ages 60 and over, as well as handicapped individuals. Taxes will be done on Tuesdays beginning in February. Please phone the Recreation Dept at 757-1610 for an appointment after January 15.
SENIOR SOFTBALL LEAGUE
The Parks and Recreation Department will be sponsoring two senior Softball teams which will again participate in the Macomb County Senior Softball League this summer. Men and women, age 55 years or older in calendar year Jan.1, 2008 through Dec 31, 2008 are eligible. For additional information, contact the Center Line Parks & Recreation Department at 757-1610.

PARK RESERVATIONS
The Recreation Department will begin taking reservations for Picnic Shelters for 2008 season picnics on, February 1, 2008. Reservations will be accepted throughout the year on a first-come, first-served basis. Mail in reservations accepted, please call first for requirements. You must be a Center Line resident to reserve shelters. ID is required and only one weekend is allowed per household per year.
LIVING MEMORIALS
Did you know you can have a tree planted or a bench installed in one of the City’s parks as a memorial to a loved one? You make the memorial donation for the tree ($200) or bench ($350) and we take care of the rest (ordering and planting/installation and the memorial plaque.)
